Sam & Sarah In The Arena: Laced Up & Ready

The Women In The Arena Podcast x White Lace & Combat Boots Collaboration

I’m honored (and more than a little thrilled) to officially launch Sam & Sarah In The Arena: Laced Up & Ready, a new collaborative series under The Women In The Arena Podcast with the incomparable Sarah Scully.

This project is not just another announcement — it is a personal milestone.

For years, I’ve dreamed of building a platform where hard conversations about service, gender, leadership, and policy could exist out loud. Having a podcast series of my own has been a true bucket-list goal, and today, that box is officially checked.

And I couldn’t imagine launching it anywhere better than in partnership with The Women In The Arena Podcast.

🎙️ What We Tackle in Our First Episode

In our debut conversation, Sarah and I take a direct look at recent actions from the Secretary of Defense — including the elimination of DACOWITS — and what these decisions mean for representation, accountability, and gender equity across the Armed Forces.

Together, we examine:

  • the historical significance of DACOWITS for servicewomen and families

  • what its absence could mean for future research, design, and policy advocacy

  • how shifts in standards and language shape the lived military experience

⚡ Why This Series Matters

Sam & Sarah In The Arena: Laced Up & Ready is where complex conversations get the microphone they deserve.

We’re talking about:

  • readiness beyond male baselines

  • equitable design for women’s bodies and careers

  • leadership culture vs. lived consequences

  • families, transitions, policy decisions, and the people under the uniform

This series exists because women have always been in the arena — and now, the arena gets to meet their full truth.

💥 What Comes Next

More conversations.

More candor.

More voices shaping defense culture, not just living inside of it.

Future episodes will feature timely topics impacting:

  • veterans

  • servicewomen

  • military families

  • leaders driving equity and design change

A Milestone Worth Noting

Starting this series isn’t just a new line on a resume — it’s a realization of something I hoped to build for years:

  • a place where honesty meets expertise

  • where policy meets lived experience

  • where women’s voices aren’t invited… but expected

Bucket list checked. Microphone on. Boots laced.
