I’m pleased to feature my Military Times opinion piece, “Don’t Just Accommodate Women in the Military. Integrate!” The article argues that despite significant milestones, true gender integration remains elusive. Instead of merely accommodating women, the military must fully embrace their inclusion at every level.
“Despite 75 years since the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act and the opening of all military jobs to women, the Department of Defense has largely just accommodated their presence—not integrated them.”
This commentary calls for a shift from symbolic gestures to structural change—urging the military to embed women fully into its institutions and decision-making. It’s about moving beyond acknowledgment to true equality in all aspects of service.
